San Diego Sports Medicine Clinic is pleased to announce our very own Dr. Michelle Look as the recipient of the prestigious 2019 Charles & Audrey Camarata Medical Champion Award. Each year, the San Diego Sports Medicine Foundation honors three individuals who demonstrate commitment, excellence, and dedication to their mission, at the annual Taste at the Cove fundraiser. The foundation provides medical services to young injured athletes in San Diego with limited financial means. Dr. Look was chosen as the Medical Honoree for outstanding Sports Medicine service to the community, and is overjoyed to be selected for the same honor as her mentor, Dr. Lee Rice, who was a recipient of the same award in 2013. Amazingly enough, the athlete who received the award this year, Shannon Macmillian, was on the 1999 Women’s World Cup championship team, which was the first professional sports team Dr. Look cared for.
